OurStage.com is a music site that allows musicians to upload their music, and fans to rate it. The musician at the top of each genre at the end of the month gets a chance to win $5000, with other prizes for artists who fail to reach the final round, these prizes are software, gift cards, chance to play at festivals, and much more!

Musicians
For musicians OurStage is a great place to join, because it gives you another place to upload and promote your music online, interact with other musicians, win great prizes, get access to music industry tips from artists and managers already in the industry.
Recently they added an area called “Marketplace”, this helps you find gigs going on throughout the US, that you can apply to perform at.
You also have the option of allowing OurStage to sell your music, they will sell each track for 99 cents, and you get 80 cents.

For fans OurStage is still a great place to join, it lets you vote your favorite artists, to help them stay top of the charts, interact with other music fans, create a playlist of your favorite music and place it anywhere you want, you can also check out previous winners of the contests by visiting the “Winners” page. There are also a number of other things fans can do, so sign up and check it out!

Final Things…
I say artists a lot in this review, but it’s not only for artists, producers can upload their beats and have them voted on, and enter the contests. I’m not sure how they are with remixes of mainstream artists songs, but I don’t think they’ll allow them.
