Interview with Trey Santana

Trey Santana won producer of the month for October, below is an interview I done with him.

OPENING

Tell us a bit about yourself, your name, age, where you’re from, and anything else?
The name’s Kruze and I’m from Perth Australia I got the name Trey Santana because those are both my middle names and that’s about it

MUSIC

What genre(s) of music do you produce? What’s your favorite?
I produce RNB, Pop and Hip Hop but lately I’ve been really into producing RNB beats
that’s a hard one I really like RNB but I’m a sucker for Hip Hop.

How long have you been producing? What first got you interested?
Well I’ve been producing for nearly a year now
ah… what got me interested? I don’t really know I guess just for the love of music.

What’s your inspiration?
Basically everyday things…oh and my family.

Do you Sample, Compose or Both? What do you prefer?
I prefer composing I’ve tried sampling but it’s not really my cup of tea but I might get my sampling skills up during the next holidays.

Do you use software or Hardware to produce? Which Software/Hardware? Which do you prefer?
I just use Software for now (Fl Studio 9) but I want to try out some other things in the near future.

When did you decide you wanted to take your music seriously?
Not all that long ago actually it’s was when some of my friends said that I was really good so yeah I really got me thinking about making beats as a job

What are you trying to do with your music? Do you want to help your community? Are you trying to get rich? What is your goal for your music?
Well hopefully I can become the best that I can be as far as my music goes. Yeah I kind of want to help my community out but until I figure out how to it isn’t gonna happen yet. lol
nah I’m not really trying to get rich I’m just trying to do as much as possible for my music and help my family out. My goal for my music would be to produce for artists all around the world.

Do you have any kind of management, publishing or distribution teamwork behind you? If so what are their responsibilities?
Nope just me myself and I

What are some accomplishments that you have achieved, and are most proud of?
This would have to be one of my biggest accomplishments I don’t really get involved in much.

Have you ever made any contact with big time people in the industry and do you keep in contact with them?
Nope not yet…. lol

Has this forum helped you at all in your musical journey?
Yeah it kind of has getting good feedback from other members makes me want to make more beats

What made you post your music online?
Just out of curiosity I guess.

Do you feel like the internet is helping you as an underground producer?
Yeah it has because I’ve learned a lot of new things from the internet.

Do you have any upcoming projects, events or anything?
Not that I can think of but I’ll be sure to let everyone know if I do

10 years from now where do you want to be?
Sheshh in 10 years hopefully still making music
