Interview with FaboNick

OPENING

Tell us a bit about yourself, your name, where you’re from, and anything else?
My names Nick Uhlman from Sandwich MA, fun huh. I’m just a regular guy who loves music.

MUSIC

Where did you get the name FaboNick, what does it mean?
fabonick was actually my nickname I got in highschool so I have had it for quite a while and it comes from me combining my name and the rapper fabolous’ name

What genre(s) of music do you produce? What’s your favorite?
I like to remix hip hop, rnb, and pop. I honestly don’t have a favorite, I love all music…seriously

How long have you been making blends/remixes/DJ’ing? What first got you interested?
I have been remixing for 4 years but seriously for about a year. I have always enjoyed music, but loved when remixes of songs came out and wanted to make my own.

What’s your inspiration?
Clinton sparks, were both from the same point and his music is EXACTLY what i ant to create, i love his style.

Do you only do blends/remixes or do you DJ parties/clubs e.t.c?
I do not dj anywhere, but would love to…maybe even have my own radio show.

Do you use software or turntables for your remixes/blends? Which software (if any)?
VDj, and noone seems to believe me. I guess Vdj is hard to master especially with the bpm problems but I don’t have a problem with it

When did you decide you wanted to take your music seriously?
After my music that I have been doing for less than a year was leaps and bounds better than people doing it for much longer, plus it makes me really happy when people tell me that my mix was awesome and they want to bump it in their car.

What are you trying to do with your music? Do you want to help your community? Are you trying to get rich? What is your goal for your music?
My goal with my music to become known. I want to make music that makes people happy and want to dance, i want my music to get people pumped and have people excited about what i can do to a song to make it sound different and hot.

Do you have any kind of management, publishing or distribution teamwork behind you? If so what are their responsibilities?
I don’t.

What are some accomplishments that you have achieved, and are most proud of?
I have had a couple of my remixes played in a club and that just blew my mind.

Have you ever made any contact with big time people in the industry and do you keep in contact with them?
I have not but would love to talk with clinton sparks.

Can you tell us how you found CrazyPellas?
I found it through another music site, and ever since I found it, I’ve been addicted.

Has this forum helped you at all in your musical journey?
It sure has, getting feedback from people telling you what’s hot or not really helps with my musical progression

What made you post your music online?
To see what others thought about my music and to make sure I wasn’t the only one who thought it was hot.

Do you have any upcoming projects, events or anything?
Just more mixes.

10 years from now where do you want to be?
on the radio making people jam to my mixes.
